Flanged Heaters

• Flanged industrial immersion heaters are
  commonly used in many chemical, petroleum and
  water based applications. This electric heater
  uses direct heat application to the liquid
  medium. A thermowell is used to allow for a probe
  to relay temperature reading to a digital
  controller that cycles and maintains the desired
  target temperature.
• Wattco flanged immersion heaters allow
  the flexibility of using many different alloys to
  help resist corrosion and maintain life longevity
  of the flanged heater. Steel flanges are
  typically used for lubricant oils, heavy and
  light oils, waxes as well as mildly corrosive
  liquids and low flow gas heating. Process water,
  soap and detergent solutions as well as
  demineralized or deionized water applications
  often use steel flanges. Food applications also
  use stainless steel for sanitary purposes. The
  sheath materials used can be steel, stainless
  steel, copper as well as exotic alloys such as
  inconel, hastelloy and titanium. Extremely
  corrosive environments such as salt water must
  use titanium alloys to avoid sheath breach over
  excessive durations.
• Flanged immersion heaters are one of the most
  widely used heating options in the oil sector.
  Compared to other heaters, they are easier to
  install, are specifically designed for use in
  pressurized vessels and more manageable. Typical
  applications include preheating different grades
  of oil, cleaning tanks and heat transfer.

Screw Plug Heaters

•  Screw plug heaters are an easy way to heat up
  solutions in smaller containers that also require
  controls. Mechanical thermostats or Digital
  controllers can be used with these immersion
  heaters to help reach target temperatures with
  great accuracy meeting your project objectives.
  Additional thermowells can be installed for high
  limit temperature probes to help protect your
  liquid and processes.
• Screw Plug heaters from WATTCO are used for
  heating gases and liquids in tanks or vessels.
  These elements are designed to be immersed in
  liquid so that heat transfer will occur at a
  rapid rate, enabling quick heat up times. Typical
  uses include the food and beverage industry,
  laboratory clinics, applications involving
  hydraulic oils and lubricants as well as more
  sophisticated uses such as heating up flammable
  liquids or gases which require explosion proof
  housing.

Circulation Heaters (1)

• Circulation Heaters (or in line heaters) use
  flanged immersion heaters in many applications.
  It often involves a pump that flows
  liquid through a closed pipe circuit (i.e.. water
  or glycol solution) that is reheated. The
  required wattage to heat the liquid is highly
  dependent on the flow rate (gallons per minute).
  The medium enters an inlet opening, gets heated
  up as it flows within a chamber and exits the
  outlet nozzle where it circulates throughout the
  piping circuit. Temperature probes such as a
  thermocouple or RTD, is used in conjunction with
  the electric heater to maintain the liquid at the
  desired temperature. Many applications
  use liquids with low flash point and, require
  explosion proof housing (NEMA 7) to avoid
  potential mishaps. Drain valves can be installed
  to allow for easy maintenance by purging the
  liquid from the vessel and cleaning the tubular
  elements from any residue that can build up over
  time. Circulation heaters can come with legs for
  horizontal or vertical installations depending on
  your application and your spacial requirements.

Circulation Heaters (2)

• Oil and Gas companies have specifically used
  circulation heaters to assist them in the process
  of modifying viscosity levels of their heating
  oils. Crude oil enters an inlet of the vessel at
  a cool temperature and exits the outlet at a
  temperature more convenient for flow as it
  travels from one end of the transport pipe to the
  other. Hydraulic fluid can also be heated using
  this immersion heater for heat transfer purposes,
  and to resist cooler climates as winter
  temperatures need to be avoided. Immersion
  heaters are widely used in a variety of
  industries particularly the oil and pipeline
  sector for several different purposes. These
  heaters are specifically designed so that oil,
  water, viscous materials, gases, solvents and
  other different process mixtures can be heated in
  direct contact with each other. This allows the
  heat to be generated within a single enclosure or
  solution, and so hundred percent efficiency can
  be achieved.
