• What exactly is NetCFax PRO and why do we still
  ship both NetCFax v2.7 and NetCFax Pro v3.1 ?
• The answer to the above question is very simple,
  and the additional features provided by NetCFax
  PRO are described in some detail in the
  following presentations.

• THE BACKGROUND
• Since first introduced two years ago, NetCFax has
  had such a huge take up by businesses who needed
  or wanted to replace WinFax Pro, that it really
  took us totally by surprise
• We first introduced the NetCFax v2 system, which
  was very well received, our customers also gave
  us a great many suggestions for improvements and
  new features and as a result we eventually
  decided to release NetCFax Pro v3 with a lot of
  these new features included.
• Many of the additional features were to make the
  handling of received faxes more efficient, and we
  have consistently released free incremental
  upgrades to the NetCFax Pro v3.x series over the
  last year or so, adding more and more features
  each time.
• Despite providing all these new features, we
  still kept receiving more and more suggestions,
  and some of these involved some major changes to
  the way NetCFax handles faxes.
• Therefore, we began to design NetCFax Pro v4 to
  include these features, but we soon realized that
  some of the work needed to get v4 completed will
  take us well into 2007.
• So we have decided to issue a new NetCFax version
  that includes several of the most commonly
  requested features and have decided to call this
  new version NetCFax PRO v3.5 to differentiate it
  from the previous NetCFax Pro v3.x releases.

• THE NEW FEATURES THE CLIENT FAX CABINET A
  MAJOR OVERHAUL
• All faxes are clearly of importance to most
  businesses, as very probably many are orders, or
  sales enquiries, and quite naturally these need
  to be handled as rapidly as possible.
• We were asked if it was possible for all fax
  clients that are logged in to be able to see
  changes that occur in any of the fax drawers of
  the fax cabinet in real time.
• The answer to this is now - YES, although we have
  had to make significant changes to the way the
  clients communicate with the fax server to
  implement this.
• All clients, even those running under RDP
  sessions on a Windows Server, now see any changes
  that occur to the faxes in their own cabinet
  drawer immediately. This includes new faxes
  arriving, faxes being deleted, and faxes being
  resent.
• But we were not content with just that, so we
  added the ability for anyone to mark received
  faxes as Seen or Unseen, with the server
  automatically marking newly received faxes as
  Unseen of course. By default these faxes appear
  in a bold red font in the list of faxes. If
  anyone else changes this status, all clients see
  them revert to a normal font immediately.
• Then we decided to also allow any change to the
  comments field that is a part of each received
  fax to also be seen in real time.
• As a final feature, whenever anyone views a
  received fax in the standard viewer or the thumbs
  viewer, that can automatically mark the fax as
  seen as well if you have the option enabled.

• THE NEW FEATURES CREATING COMPLEX OUTGOING
  FAXES
• Creating and sending faxes is also very clearly
  of major importance to most businesses, and many
  of these need to contain data created by various
  different applications, such as Microsoft Word,
  Microsoft Excel and various other applications.
• This is of course normally done very simply by
  printing from these applications to the NetCFax
  fax printer, which creates faxable data files in
  the required TIF format, and these are then
  attached to your fax. However, if you need to
  assemble a fax that contains several of these
  files, possibly printed to the fax printer over a
  period of time, it can be difficult to remember
  what names you may have given to each of them.
• We gave this problem quite a bit of thought, and
  came up with a new concept in fax creation
  handling that we have called the Immediate
  List.
• This system automatically adds each and every
  document you create using the fax client printer
  to a special list that is owned by and only
  accessible to the login account in use. The
  owner can of course choose not to add certain
  print jobs to this list, and can also maintain it
  at any time, deleting older files from it etc.
• The Immediate list is available when you click
  the Create fax button just by clicking the new
  Immediate list button which then lets you
  select as many or few of these recently created
  faxable files to the fax you are creating from
  the Immediate list of all faxable files created.
• Once you have done this, you are given the
  opportunity to delete the list, or you can keep
  it for future use if you prefer.

• THE NEW FEATURES Optical Character Recognition
  (OCR)
• We were asked very often if it was possible for
  NetCFax to support an OCR system that could
  convert received faxes into editable text
  (because any fax is just a large image file). We
  looked into this very carefully as many of the
  available OCR systems are very expensive for you
  to license, and we wanted the system to be one
  that would be affordable for most NetCFax
  customers.
• The solution we finally decided to implement was
  to build in support for the Transym OCR system
  (TOCR) v1.4. This is a very well regarded and
  efficient OCR system. Even better, it only costs
  40 at the time of writing to license a single
  instance copy.
• The NetCFax PRO server can now be configured to
  automatically perform a scan of all faxes
  received if TOCR is installed on that machine.
  It also lets you create a list of search matches
  that the server will then check against in the
  text file it has created, and if a match is
  found, it can either assign a fax to a specified
  login account, or even to an entire NetCFax
  group.
• In fact, the fax clients have an option on the
  context menu of the received faxes cabinet drawer
  that lets them ask the server to perform another
  OCR scan, and if successful, the server will
  offer the text file to that client to allow them
  to view its contents.
• When a client does this, any assignment checks
  are also performed automatically.
• We believe these new systems make NetCFax Pro a
  highly flexible and powerful networked fax system
  that can meet the needs of most business
  networks.
• IMPORTANT NOTE NetCFax only provides support
  for TOCR v1.4 at this time.
• We will be adding support for TOCR v2.0 in a
  later release, but right now ensure you download
  TOCR v1.4
• DO NOT DOWNLOAD TOCR v2.0 for use with NetCFax
  PRO v3.6 as this is not supported by NetCFax

• THE NEW FEATURES Email forwarding based on CSID
  (using a wildcard match)
• We have been asked several times if it is
  possible to have the NetCFax server always
  forward a copy of every received fax (or the PDF
  copy if so configured) to a specified email
  address. (In other words, the fax server acts as
  an automated email notification system)
• The solution we decided on to allow the fax
  server to do this turned out to be a very simple
  one.
• Firstly, the Email based on CSID option in the
  NetCFax Pro received faxes configuration
  property sheet now has Promote and Demote buttons
  to let you organize the filters you have created.
• Next, there is a new entry you can use which is a
  string of 6 asterisks which will always
  match ANY CSID AT ALL.
• If no other CSID matches are identified by this
  processing, and you have the filter in
  your list, the server will automatically send an
  email (with the fax or PDF copy of the fax) to
  the email address specified fpr that filter.
• Because using the asterisks will obviously
  overrule any other CSID, you can sort the CSIDs
  in the order you want them checked for, and
  therefore you just place the entry as the
  last entry as a catchall. This means that faxes
  with other listed CSIDs will still be emailed to
  the specified address, but any others not listed
  will go to the email address specified for the
  entry.
• We believe this makes NetCFax Pro a very easy to
  use and very powerful email forwarding agent for
  all received faxes.

• THE NEW FEATURES Multi processor control
  feature
• Its a fact of life today that Windows PCs need
  more and more processing power, as well as more
  memory and hard disk space of course, and as a
  result, many of the PCs we can purchase today
  have more than one single processor, or multiple
  processor cores.
• So we decided that you should be able to choose
  which processors or cores NetCFax is allowed to
  use
• Why would you want or need to do this you may ask
  ?
• The answer is that many machines, especially
  Windows servers, are quite often tasked to handle
  heavy processing for some applications such as
  database servers, file serving etc, and these
  require the maximum access possible to all of the
  processor time they can get hold of.
• NetCFax really does not need a great deal of
  processing power, so you can quite safely limit
  both the fax server and the fax clients to only
  one or more selected processors.
• We believe this makes NetCFax PRO a very
  environmentally friendly system, that lets you
  control the computing resources you have
  available more efficiently.

• We hope the previous presentation slides have
  helped you understand the additional benefits
  that we have built into the NetCFax PRO system.
• Because of these new and powerful features, the
  cost to register NetCFax PRO is a little higher,
  but virtually all earlier NetCFax v2.x and the
  NetCFax Pro v3.x releases can be upgraded
  automatically to the new NetCFax PRO system for
  a relatively small charge. You do not need to
  perform a new installation if you want to
  upgrade, as the upgrade system will preserve all
  of your faxes and existing configuration
  settings.

  of our web site, and prices start from only 275
  for a 5 user system. The costs to upgrade from
