What is the ECC?

• Started in 1985, the Employees Charitable
  Campaign gives state and local government
  employees the opportunity to contribute to a
  myriad of charities through payroll deduction.
• Charities are screened by the ECC Steering
  Committee for inclusion.

What can 1 a week do?

• By donating 1 a week, or 2 a paycheck you can
  designate your gift to one of 1400 charities
  listed.
• By donating 52 a year (2 a paycheck) you
  earmark your gift to a charity.
• Donating less than 2 a paycheck gives well
  deserved funds to the United Way and other local
  charities.

• 5 a month
• 24 hours of shelter, meals and services for one
  homeless person,
• Buy one acre of unprotected tropical rainforest,
• Plant five trees in an urban area,
• Buy enough food for one guide dog for three
  months.

• Must pledge 52 in order to pledge to a specific
  agency

Remember

• Dont separate the pledge card form
• Make sure information on both sides of the form
  matches
• Make sure all information has been completed
• Make sure YOU receive these completed pledges!

Filling out the Pledge Envelope

• Fill out your Departments name,
• Tally up the number of checks, cash and payroll
  deductions,
• Submit by November 16 to Human Resources,
• Bring cash over immediately to HR (dont hold on
  to cash).
• DONT MAIL PLEDGES!

• All pledge envelopes must be returned to Human
  Resources (attn Matt Manfra)
• You can find out your giving history by calling
  the United Way Mercer County (609-637-4907)
• There is an electronic codebook at www.njsecc.org
