WMISD District Mission Statement
  • The mission of the WMISD is to provide high

  • Reduce the number of students eligible for
    special education as Learning Disabled in the
    area of reading.
  • Students in special education due to a reading

  • WMISD awarded Great Start Collaborative grant
  • Preschool Leadership Team begins its second year
  • Headstart/WMISD room at Sp. Services
  • Preschool Consultant starting in Pine River
    expanding to other districts

CSI Initiatives
  • State Math Grant applied for (no word yet)
  • It is designed to expand the CSI math initiative
    more quickly
  • Pilot Sites did some work last year at Lincoln
    and McBain Elementary Schools

State Federal Initiatives
  • We will continue to identify more infants
    eligible for Early On services before their 1st
    birthday.
  • We will meet the 45 day timeline for Early On
    referrals to IFSP meetings.
  • We will place more preschool students in LRE
    settings.
  • OHI eligibility will continue to be based on
    substantiated medical conditions.
  • LD OHI eligibility numbers will continue to
    decrease.

State Federal Initiatives
  • 6. Referral s will continue to decrease
    percentage of eligible students from referrals
    will increase.
  • 7. We will do a better job of documenting all
    eligibility requirements.
  • 8. We will complete all required activities
    associated with
  • a) Our NCA visit
  • b) Required CIMS Part B (SE) and Part C (Early
    On)
  • (monitoring).
