- Survey conducted November 13th 20th, 2007
- Interviews with 1,200 random Los Angeles County
voters, likely to vote in November 08. - Margin of error for the full sample is /-2.8
- Margin of error for half the sample is /-4.0
- Margin of error for each Planning Area is /-6.9
3Key Findings
- LA County transportation measure support rises to
the necessary two-thirds level after supportive
statements - Communicating about specific projects by unique
Transportation Planning Areas personalizes the
importance of the measure for voters and
strengthens support - Synchronzing traffic signals, extending light
rail transit and bridge and pot hole repair are
among the projects receiving the highest level of
support

- Voters understand the problem and respond
supportively to such solution oriented messages
relating to - The aging and outdated highway system, including
the needed bridge, overpass and tunnel repair and
earthquake retrofitting - The worsening of traffic that has led to an
increase in hours spent in rush hour - The need to reduce emergency response times,
which have been seriously impacted by worsening
traffic congestion - The need to address the expected population
growth over the next 25 years
