First we need to make a choice
  • New Project
  • Edit an Existing Project
  • Capture Video from a Camera

Creating a New Project
  • Select a place to save your work - C yada/
    yada/yada
  • Get some media to play with
  • DVD, Digital Camera, Mobile Phone, Camcorder,
    Card Reader
  • DV Camcorder, HDV Camcorder, Webcam
  • Files and Folders
  • Internet
  • Stop Motion

Now that we have media, lets look at the setup
buckets
  • Edit Where we make the movie
  • Create Menus Great for DVDs
  • Share how other people will see your work
    (disk, online, pc, phone, tape, etc)

Note that we are now under the Project tab if
we want to add more media we have to click on the
Get Media tab

Editing Bucket
  • Media Click on this button to see work w/the
    content that have pulled from various sources
    during your project

Media were using so far

  • Themes You can choose to add different themes to
    incorporate into your movie (talk show)

  • fxClick on this button to add special effects
    like Chromakey, bluescreen, and green screen

    one scene from another

  • TitlesClick on this button to add a titles and
    credits to your work

Putting the pieces together
  • Change the Sceneline view to Timeline view by
    clicking on the Timeline button
  • Drag your media over to a Video Track (Video 1,
    Video 2, etc.)
  • At this point you can manipulate the size of the
    video by clicking on it once you see the white
    box you can resize and move it around
  • You can repeat as many times as you would
    like--Applications--
  • Create Background for News story, or have many
    pieces of media going at same time

A Little About Chroma Key
  • Chroma Keying or bluescreening is very easy to do
    and is very common. In fact, every time you watch
    the weather, a bluescreen or greenscreen is used
    in the background

  • Film your subject in front of a solid color
  • any color will do as long as it is solid
  • make sure that subject (s) are not wearing that
    color!
  • Import that video into Adobe Premier Elements 4
  • Drag video that you dont want Chroma Keyed onto
    Video Line 1
  • Drag video that you do want Chrom Keyed onto
    Video Line 2
  • Click on Effects button
  • Type Chroma into search box
  • Drag Chroma Key icon onto video line that you
    want keyed
  • Click on the Edit Effects button

  • Click on the little eye dropper icon and then
    click on the image that you want keyed
  • You can fine tune your effect with the Chroma Key
    Slider Bars

Pretty Cool Right?

Adding Narration and Mixing Sound
  • Simple!
  • Click on the Add Narration Button
  • Click on Red Dot and record
  • For best results use headphones and uncheck mute.
    To reduce feedback while recording lower input
    level volume slider
  • Click on Audio Mixer button to overlay sounds and
    music

Removing sound
  • Find the correct audio track
  • Right-click on the piece that you want to delete
  • Select Unlink Audio and Video
  • Select Delete Audio
  • Note the right-click quick-trick is to host to
    many other options

Saving your work
  • Click on the Share tab
  • Click on your Share option
  • Burn DVD
  • Online
  • Personal Computer
  • Mobile Phone
  • Tape

Choose your file format
  • Adobe Flash typically for Web pages
  • MPEG typically for PC or burning
  • DV AVI for further editing
  • Title your Work and choose to save it somewhere
  • Click on the Save button
