- Advance the geosciences, especially as they
relate to petroleum resources to disseminate
information relating to geosciences and the
associated disciplines. - Promote the technology of exploring for,
exploiting, and producing Petroleum - To foster the spirit of scientific research
throughout its membership
4University Assistance Programme (UAP)
- Founded in 1999 in response to the noticeable
decline in the standard of Geoscience education
in Nigeria - Main Objective
- To complement the effort of the Universities,
States and Federal Government to maintain
established educational standard. " To contribute
substantially to the continuous improvement of
educational among Higher Institutions and
Oil/Mining Industries.

- We believed as an organisation that for Nigeria
and Nigerian universities to attain the necessary
educational standard equal to other parts of the
world, appropriate fees must be charged.
