Technology for adaptation experience in needs
assessment
  • Adaptation is defined as adjustment in
ecological, social, or economic systems in
response to actual or expected climatic stimuli
    and their effects or impacts.
  • Adaptation technologies are those that enable
societies to become more flexible and resilient
to the full range of future stressors.
  • Technologies in this sense include both hard
    technologies such as
  • computer hardware, improved climate prediction
    models, drought-
  • resistant phenotypes, and infrastructure, and
    soft technologies such as
  • information, networks, training, and research.

Barriers on technologies utilization
  • Limited possibilities on utilization of computer
    models.
  • Inappropriate data and/or lack of databases.
  • Lack of strong prioritized policies and
    development strategies.
