- ICAOs Safety Initiatives- Aerodrome
certification
- The What ? - Quality assurance that the
aerodrome facilities and services are adequate to
ensure safety and security
- Why ? The travelling public (the ultimate
users) needs such an assurance to continue to use
air travel as the preferred mode of
transportation public perception of safety - How ? Implementation of applicable
specifications evaluate the capabilities of the
airport operator, the facilities and services and
procedures are satisfactory impact on safety of
operations
