Lose To Cruise

• The winners of the Districts inaugural Lose To
  Cruise contest recently returned from their
  all-expenses paid cruise to the Caribbean. Lose
  to Cruise is a District program sponsored by
  Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City to
  promote wellness among employees.

• The four victorious ladies, known as the Cruise
  Shufflers, not only enjoyed themselves but they
  maintained their healthy lifestyles as well.

Back To School media

• Be sure to tune your radio to 95.7 FM The Vibe or
  Magic 107.3 FM this month to hear the Districts
  Back to School advertisement. Both stations will
  conduct radio remotes at District events
  throughout the month.

Back to School

• The District will also host a variety of
  activities to celebrate the opening of school,
  including
• A live television remote at Van Horn-East or
  Paseo
• Community ambassadors will welcome parents
• Special radio events at Border Star, Swinney,
  Satchel Paige and Hartman
• Special banners will be hung outside all KCMSD
  schools
• Gifts will be distributed to all staff members

Upcoming events

• The Grand Finale Neighborhood Fair will be
  from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16,
  2008, at Garfield Elementary.
• A special parent forum to introduce the NEW dual
  language program at Swinney Elementary will be
  from 530 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008.
• The Interscholastic Leagues annual Back To
  School football scrimmage will be at 7 p.m. on
  Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at Southeast Stadium.
