Master Schedule
  • 90 minute uninterrupted intensive reading block
    for Students Scoring in the lowest 25 of Level 1
    on the 2005 FCAT Reading Assessment.
  • 55 minute uninterrupted reading block for all
    other students scoring Level 1.
  • 55 minute uninterrupted reading block for
    students scoring in the lowest 25 of Level 2.
  • Social Studies courses scheduled with a teacher
    who has/will have Content Enhancement Training
    and has/will be reading endorsed within the next
    two years.

The Role of the Reading Coach
  • The primary role of the reading coach is as staff
    developer.
  • Coaches analyze and interpret student data to
    train others to design their instructional
    program.
  • Coaches are the primary source of staff
    development in reading through modeling in
    classrooms and workshops.

Quality Professional Development
  • Teachers are encouraged to focus their Individual
    Professional Development Plan (IPDP) on reading.
  • Professional Development will be tiered
  • Basic
  • Foundational
  • Highly Accomplished

Reading Endorsement
  • Content area teachers who serve students scoring
    in Level 1 or Level 2 will need to be Reading
    Endorsed within two years.
  • Information regarding district level training
    will be coming soon.

Reading Leadership Teams
  • The purpose of this team is to create capacity of
    reading knowledge within the school building.
  • May be in the form of an existing team.

School Improvement
  • School Improvement Plans are to be aligned with
    Comprehensive Reading Plan.
