Rule 1- Players

• Each team shall consist of five players. No team
  may be reduced to fewer than five players.
• If all substitutes have been disqualified and 5th
  player receives his 6th foul, that player
  remains in game, a technical foul is called and
  he is treated the same thereafter

Rule 2- Scoring and Timing

• A legal goal is made when a live ball enters the
  basket from above and remains in or passes
  through the net.
• A successful field goal attempt from the area on
  or inside the three-point field goal line shall
  count two points.
• A successful field goal attempt from the area
  outside the three-point field goal line shall
  count three points.

• All periods of regulation play in the NBA will be
  twelve minutes.
• All overtime periods of play will be five
  minutes.
• Fifteen minutes will be permitted between halves
  of all games.
• Game clock will consist of 24 seconds, unless
  ball contacts rim and offense regains possession,
  clock resets.

Out of Bounds

• The ball is out-of-bounds when it touches a
  player who is out-of-bounds or any other person,
  the floor, or any object on, above or outside of
  a boundary or the supports or back of the
  backboard.
• Any ball that rebounds or passes behind the
  backboard, in either direction, from any point is
  considered out-of-bounds.

• Player has 5 seconds to put the ball back in
  bounds once the official blows the whistle.
• Violation of this rule results in loss of
  possession, and ball is in-bounded in the same
  manner by other team.

Free Throws- The Charity Stripe

• Official will award a free throw in the event of
  a foul, given the circumstances award a free
  throw.
• Player has 10 seconds once given ball by the
  official to shoot.
• Players cannot approach ball until ball touches
  the rim.
