WHAT IS LIFE STORY WORK ?
  • Life Story work is a process
  • It involves looking back on the past and forward
    to future hopes
  • It is usually done on a one to one basis
  • It does not set out to resolve past problems or
    present ones (Life Review Therapy)
  • It does not have to result in a book it can be
    sheet of A4, a timeline, some pictures in a
    scrapbook

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT ?
  • For Client ?
  • To feel valued
  • To promote self esteem,
  • To retain and regain a sense of individuality and
    identity

  • For Carer?
  • Helps with peace of mind
  • Others will have a sense of knowing the person
  • Enjoyable to do
  • Point of reflection
  • Loved one be seen and remembered as a person
  • Legacy for others e.g. children , grandchildren
