• Born November 12, 1751
• Born in Franklin County, Pennsylvania
• Orphaned at the age of five and raised by her
  uncle
• She married John Corbin at the age of 21
• Her parents were killed by Indians

Accomplishments

• She was the first woman to receive a pension
  (1779)

Later Years

• After her husband died she still served in the
  army
• She was wounded by a grapeshot and she was never
  able to use her left arm again
• She died in 1783, The month and day are unknown

Interesting Facts

• She manned her husbands cannon after he was
  killed until she was wounded, too
• She fought at war with her husband at Fort
  Washington
