• Built in 1978 by P.D.M. Hydrostorage Inc.
• Made of Corrugated Steel/Steel.
• Containing Three Concrete Floors.
• A Foundation of 3 Meters Thickness of Reinforced
  Concrete.

• Water comes from the Biscayne Aquifer, a
  groundwater source.
• The groundwater is treated at Harris Field
  treatment plant.
• The treated water is pumped through the
  inflow/effluent pipes.

• Water enters to the four main supplier wells and
  is pumped to the tank via four individual pumps.
• Each well containing an individual pump of 2.84
  m3 per minute capacity.
• An average of 11.36 m3 per minute leave the tank.

DamagesCity of Homestead Elevated Water Tank

• There have not been any major damages to the
  tower since it was built.
• During hurricane Andrew only the two entrance
  doors were damaged.

MaintenanceCity of Homestead Elevated Water Tank

• The structure of the tower is inspected every
  five years.
• Every year they measure the paint thickness, and
  repaint it if necessary.
• The inside of the tank contains a layer of
  catargic, in order to avoid corrosion.

  flow meter in each of the tanks feeding pipes.
