and resources Christians in the lands of the
Bible as they serve the needs of the poor,
vulnerable and disadvantaged through education,
health care and community development.

3- Over 20 Overseas Partners are in Israel the
Occupied Palestinian Territories, involved in a
variety of work, from education and health to
community development projects. - What they have in common is their work with
vulnerable, disadvantaged and often-overlooked
members of society.

4The St John Eye Hospital in Jerusalem provides
essential eye treatment to thousands of
Palestinians suffering from serious eye
conditions.

5The Four Homes of Mercy in Bethany near Bethlehem
is the only residential care home of its kind in
the Palestinian Territories, for children and
adults with severe disabilities.

6- The Spafford Childrens Centre in Jerusalem
provides a range of services for many
disadvantaged children from the local community
and the West Bank.

7Rawdat El-Zuhur primary school in Jerusalem
provides an education to children from mainly
low-income Muslim families.

8The Nazareth School of Nursing is the only
nursing school available to Arab students in the
whole of Israel
where Christian, Muslim and Jew learn alongside
each other.

9- The Helen Keller Centre (HKC) for the Visually
Impaired in Jerusalem provides education and care
for 65 boys and girls with visual impairment.

10The Helen Keller Centre opened in 1960 and is
entirely funded by BibleLands

11All the children are either blind or partially
sighted
www.biblelands.org.uk
12Some children have additional physical and mental
disabilities

1365 children aged 3-18 attend Helen Keller Centre,
learning and playing together.

14BibleLands owns the centre and so provides the
necessary funding each year approx 390,000

15Class sizes are small allowing teachers to spend
more time helping each child, and ensuring their
development

mainstream education

child per year
