Handling of Classroom Discipline

hand, and the rest of the students would also
raise their hands and quiet down
  • Classroom 2 - English 8
  • At beginning of the year, teacher made his
    expectations very clear about handling
    discipline
  • He primarily tries to deal with problems himself
by listening to students problems instead of
sending them to main office to be disciplined

  • Students worked in pairs to help each other with
    worksheet
  • At the same time, teacher walked around the room
    answering individual students questions
  • Classroom 2 - English 8
  • Class began with a 10 minute journaling session,
and students had opportunity to earn extra credit
if they shared their writing out loud
  • Most of class time was spent having students
