When is the school journey?
  • The children will leave from school on Monday 9th
    March at 9.30am.
  • We will return to school at approximately 3.00 pm
    on Friday 13th March.

What do we do on the morning of the journey?
  • Bring your child into school at the normal time.
  • Please put their cases in the hall.
  • Send the children into Brionys classroom.
  • Hand Kinful any medical equipment.
  • Hand Briony spending money.
  • Then please wait outside and wave us off at
    9.30am.

What will my child be doing on school journey?
  • The programme that has been arranged for the
    children is a busy one.
  • It has been designed to give them a really good
    mixture of activities that they would not have
    the opportunity to do normally.
  • There is a focus on team building skills, but
    also on geography and physical activity.

  • They are bound to miss you - dont worry
  • We will make sure your child has a good time
  • IT WILL BE FUN!

Who will my child be sharing a room with?
  • The children sleep in dormitories or smaller
    bedrooms, the girls on one floor and the boys on
    another.
  • The adults have their own rooms next to the
    pupils.

Security
  • All exit doors lock automatically when they are
    closed.
  • There is a push button release system which needs
    to be pressed in order for the doors to be opened
    from inside the building.
  • Access into the building is obtained through the
    use of a security key which only Kilmorie staff
    will have. Another key is held at the main
    Arethusa office.
  • Bedroom doors are alarmed but not locked. All
    other doors and exits are alarmed and locked.
  • In the case of fire, all locks are automatically
    released.

Medical Arrangements
  • If your child needs to take any medicine, please
    do the following
  • Label any medication clearly with your childs
    name.
  • Write clear instructions on when and how the
    medicine is to be administered.
  • Hand this in to Kinful on the day of the school
    journey.

Reminder
  • Please ensure that everything you send on school
    journey is labelled including any luggage.
  • Also, please make sure your child can carry their
    own luggage and that it isnt too heavy for them.

What does my child need to bring?
  • 1 Waterproof anorak
  • 3 pairs Tracksuit bottoms/trousers
  • Several Tops/T-shirts
  • 2 Warm jumper/fleece
  • 1 Warm coat
  • Several Pairs of socks
  • Several Changes of underclothes
  • 1 pair Indoor shoes (e.g. slippers or plimsolls)
  • 1 pair Trainers
  • 1 pair Wellingtons thick socks
  • 1 pair Gloves
  • 1 Hat and scarf
  • 1 set washing gear Towel, soap, flannel,
    toothpaste, etc.
  • 1 set swimming gear 1 piece costume for girls,
    trunks/shorts for boys and a towel.

What toiletries can my child bring?
  • Hairbrush or comb
  • Shampoo
  • Soap
  • Flannel/sponge
  • Shower gel (non essential)
  • 2 towels
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Roll on deodorant if you wish (no aerosols)

Does my child need anything else?
  • A disposable camera with their name on.
  • 5.00 spending money in an envelope with your
    childs name on.
  • Reading book.
  • Cards or other quiet games for evening or coach
    journey.
  • Luggage that they can carry themselves and is
    labelled.

What is my child not allowed to take?
  • Jewellery
  • Any electrical item
  • Sweets
  • More than 5.00
  • Mobile phone

Behaviour
  • Pupils will be expected to follow instructions
    from all adults.
  • Pupils will also need to be polite to children
    from other schools.
  • If pupils are unable to follow instructions from
    adults, their parents will be asked to come and
    collect them.

How can I contact my child?
  • Your child will write you a letter on the first
    night, to tell you how they are.
  • If you need urgent contact with your child,
    please get in touch with the school office.

What time will my child be back?
  • We are planning to arrive back at school between
    2.30 and 3.00 pm on Friday 13th March. Please
    come and meet the coach at school if you can.
  • You may take your child straight home.
  • They will be very, very, very tired!!!!
