22Q 2002 results of ING Bank Slaski S.A.
- The Bank reported in 2Q 2002 good results on the
background of the - current Polish economic situation and the
developments in the banking - sector.
- Economic stagnation, reflected by high
unemployment rate, poor - financial standing of companies and lower
propensity for saving resulted - in lowering the profit level in the Polish
banking sector. -
- In the second quarter of 2002, ING Bank Slaski
reported net profit at the - level of PLN 104Â 119 thousand, an increase
by PLN 8Â 340 thousand as - compared with the first quarter 2002. The
net profit of the Bank in the first - year-half 2002 totalled PLN 132Â 315 thousand,
an increase by PLN 10Â 394 - thousand as compared with the same period
of the last year.

52Q 2002 ING Bank Slaski S.A. achievements
- The Bank introduced to the offer new products,
among others - the first prepaid card on the Polish market and
Healthcare - System for holders of the accounts.
The electronic banking channels attract
substantial and still growing interest of the
customers. For example INGBankOnLine had at the
end of June 2002 48,814 registered customers (by
56 more than at the end of 2001). ING Bank
Slaski strengthened its position in the deposit
market. (the value of deposits at the end of
June amounted to PLN 21Â 307 million, an increase
by 2.8 as compared with the end of 2001)
6Plans for the 2nd half of the current year
- In the second half of 2002 ING Bank Slaski shall
continue the adopted - strategy of market expansion under strict control
over credit risk and - operational costs.
- In the nearest months the Bank shall
- - introduce to the offer two new credit cards
- Mastercard
with Lioness - Gold VISA Card with
Lioness, - - expand the program of prepaid cards
- (Maestro Prepaid) with the Travellers
Card - of international range
- - offer a new package of services for mid-size
enterprises (ProBiznes).
