Army History Strengthens The Army at War
Vision
The worlds premiere center for U.S. Army
heritage focused on research, education and
interpretation.
3Why is the 314th Infantry Regiment Memorial
Important to Us?
- Facilitates our Public History mission by
providing a snapshot of WWI soldier
accomplishments. - Takes advantage of a rare opportunity to acquire
a complete story of a fighting regiment from WWI
ranging from Mobilization through
Memorialization. - Allows us the unprecedented opportunity to
preserve an original soldier built WWI structure
tied to the regiment. - Ensure heightened visibility of the regiment by
honoring the regiments memory though public
programs, educational conferences and seminars. - Complements our collection policy by focusing on
the American Soldiers story.
4How will the 314th Infantry Regiment Memorial
Collection be Presented?
- We will immediately display the Bronze Plaque
Honor Role in Ridgway Hall (January 2007) - Upon reconstruction of the cabin, we will fully
interpret both the story of the regiment and the
story of the Log Cabin Memorial. (TBD) - Integrate the history of the regiment and
division into the AHECs outdoor Army Heritage
Trail WWI Trench Experience being built in Spring
2007.
