3Firemen
Firemen and women in our community help us in
emergencies. They put out fires in buildings and
wild brush fires that could harm us. Sometimes
they are the first to help us in other
emergencies.
4Policemen
Policemen and women help keep our communities
safe. They can also help lost children find
their families.
5Paramedics
Paramedics are an important part of communities
because they care for sick or hurt people and
quickly get them to the hospital.
6Doctors and Nurses
Doctors and nurses help to make us well when we
are sick or hurt.
7Mailmen
Mailmen and women bring us our letters and
packages. They deliver the mail in all kinds of
weather.
8Retailers
Retailers are people who sell goods in our
communities. Goods are clothes, foods,
medicines all kinds of things we need and want.
9Teachers
Teachers are important because they teach us all
of the skills we need to be good community
workers.
10Judges
Judges are needed in our communities to help make
sure everyone is treated fairly. They help us
with the rules of the government in the community
and the country.
11Mechanics
Mechanics keep our cars, trucks, and buses
working well so we can move around our
communities.
12Sanitation Workers
Sanitation workers help to keep our communities
clean. They pick up the garbage from your home.
13News Reporters
News Reporters tell us about important things
happening in our communities.
14Construction Workers
Construction workers help to build the
communities we live in.
15Many Community Workers
There are many more workers important to our
communities. Can you think of some in your
community?
