Prior to the promulgation of the Biodiversity
Act, management of biological resources was
regulated through Provincial legislation. This
resulted in fragmented and sometimes inconsistent
implementation The Act provides for national
permitting system.

area adjacent to a holding facility - Hunting of listed large predator that is a put
and take - Animal has to be free ranging for 6 months
