HISTORY

• Created in 1965 by Joel Pritchard
• Since there was not enough badminton equipment,
  Pritchard and pals modified rules and created new
  game.
• Named after Pritchards cocker spaniel, Pickles
  (he would run off with ball if it landed off the
  court).

RULES

• Game consists of 11 points, team must win by 2.
• Serving begins in right-hand court.
• Doubles serving system is the same
• Only serving team can score.

Basic Grip

• Eastern Forehand Forefinger extended up and
  behind shaft of grip with three fingers and thumb
  wrapped around the grip, forming a V on top. Grip
  is like a handshake.
• Eastern Backhand Grip like forehand grip and
  rotate paddle a quarter turn counterclockwise
  with thumb either diagonal across the back of
  handle or, extended up and behind the shaft of
  grip.
• Continental Grip the handle midway between the
  forehand and backhand.
