4It is devastating to see the device that was
giving you too much satisfaction in disarray.
Your iPhone dropped accidentally and the
beautiful glassy screen breaks into tiny pieces.
It is hard to knit them together and the only
option is getting a replacement. How do you
repair it, do you consult a professional?Fixing a
shattered iPhone is not rocket science or some
magic. It is something you can do within the
confines of your home but with the necessary
tools and some basic know how. However, this
demands that you apply extra caution, without
which you may damage the rest of the phone.

6Here is how to go about it but before that
ensure you have a plastic prying tool, Philips
screwdriver and SIM card removal tool Turn the
iPhone off and pop out the SIM card from the
right side of the gadget with the SIM card tool.
The tool can be found in stores online. Free the
back panel by removing the two Philips head
screws with the screwdriver. Then, slide the
panel towards the top of the iPhone, pull it off
and keep it aside. Remove the screw that connects
the motherboard with the battery connector. Pull
up the connector and detach the battery by
pulling the clear tab on the left of the device.

9Now take out the black shield on top of the
phone. You will have to remove the five screws
that hold it. Also, do note that the two tabs
work like hinges and you will be required to pull
them first on the stop after which you will slide
them out at the bottom. Remove the small shield
on the left of the battery compartment by taking
out the two screws. Using the prying tool remove
the connector. Get out the small vibrator by
removing the two screws that glue it to the
circuit. Using the prying tool, remove the five
motherboard connectors. Remember that three of
them must be pulled from the top, whereas the
other two have to be pulled from the bottom.

12Get out the iPhone camera by detaching the
connector from the circuit board and pulling it
out. Pull the ribbon cable to expose a screw that
holds the speakers in place. Remove this screw
and pull the whole assembly out, together with
its connector. Remove the screw next to the black
sensor device for moisture as well as the one
securing the motherboard at the top of the phone.
Get the circuit board outside. Lastly, get out
the 10 screws that hold the screen to the case
and pry it out. Replace the shattered iPhone
screen and reverse these instructions to
reassemble. As you can see this is not a task for
the faint hearted, hence it would be wise if you
called on Apple to rectify the problem.
