  • 25 March 2007 is the bicentenary of the abolition
    of the slave trade.
  • Was this a major landmark?
  • Slavery in British Empire not abolished until
    1833.
  • Slavery in the United States not abolished until
    after the Civil War.
  • BUT there is much evidence that slavery still
    exists today.
