• 1.My sister lives in Montréal with her husband

• The Europeans came to Montréal in 1534, when it
  was a small village called Hochelaga.
  
• The inhabitants of Hochelaga were Amer- Indians,
  or nomadic people who moved from place to place.
  
• By 1535 there were 40 50 houses built of wood
  and skins.
  
• In 1603 when Samuel de Champlain attempted to
  visit the Island, he didnt find the village
  Hochelaga.
  
• In 1642, A small group of people from France
  founded Ville- Marie.

• By 1685 there were 600 colonists that lived in

  houses with stone sides.

  dollar deal to build subway cars.
  
• Montréals transportation system is one of the
  most efficient, clean, and modern transportation

• The underground metro (subway) operates every 3-7
  minutes from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m.
  
• There are hundreds of bus lines in Montréal.
  Buses operate every 5-30 minutes- depending on
  the route.

• 5 separate train lines are convenient. They
  operate on a regular basis.
  
• The transit system is among the most reasonably
  priced in North America. Daily, tourist 3-day,
  weekly passes, and monthly passes allow unlimited

• The Underground Mall is huge!
• There are many shops and eating areas in it, even
  theaters!
  
• There are also many exits, so it is easy to find
  your way around, even though its so big, it also
  helps that there are so many signs leading you
  around.
• In the winter it is warm, it is cool in the
  summer.
  
• It is well worth the visit. It is a dream come
  true for shoppers.
  
• There are at least 5 malls all inter-connected to
  form the Underground Mall. The biggest one is
  Eaton Cenre.

  new stores restaurants are always coming in.

• Montréal has 2 of there own orchestras.
• They also have Jazz Festivals that are called
  Montréal Jazz Festivals.
  
• The first Jazz Festival was held at Man His
  World.
  
• It attracted over 12,000 spectators and proved to
  be a highly successful media event.

• Almost 3 decades later it became the biggest Jazz
  Festival in the world.
  
• In 2007 the Montréal Jazz Festival had its 28th
  Anniversary.
  
• It annually offers 500 concerts, ¾ are free
  host around 2,000 musicians from over 20
  different countries.
  
• The Montréal Jazz Festivals are held from June
  28th to July 8th

• I learned that Montréal has a very interesting
  history.
  
• I feel that change has impacted Montréal in our
  world by its population.
  
• I also feel that the whole city will continue to
  change.
  
• Next time I research this topic I will look more
  in depth at the Underground Malls.
