Presence Based Solutions Simplify IM, Voice, and
Video add Polycom individual group IP phones
  • As part of the SIP 2.0 release, we are adding
    compatibility with Microsoft LCS2005 server and
    Windows Messenger 5.1 / Office Communicator
    clients.
  • This capability will be available on
    SoundPoint-IP 301, 501, 600, 601 and SoundStation
    IP 4000 products.
  •  This compatibility includes the following
    features 
  • 1. SoundPoint-IP phones will register and
    authenticate with LCS2005 server using NTLM
    authentication.
  • 2. SoundPoint-IP phones will subscribe to the LCS
    presence server to monitor the presence of
  • a) Other SoundPoint-IP products registered to the
    LCS server.
  • b) Windows Messenger 5.1 clients registered to
    the LCS server
  • c) Office Communicator clients registered to the
    LCS server.
  • 3. the Presence status of the SoundPoint-IP
    phones can be set from the user interface and
    then monitored by
  • a) Other SoundPoint-IP devices
  • b) Windows Messenger 5.1 clients
  • c) Office Communicator clients
  • 4. SoundPoint-IP phones can be included in
    conference calls initiated from a Polycom MGC
    utilizing Microsoft LCS2005 server.

  • Meet-Me - Meeting-Room (MR)
  • Persistent conference
  • created on an MGC, always available, no specific
    participants attached, dormant until activated
    (not taking any media resources until activation)
  • Every conf-enabled LCS user has its own MR
    defined, with
  • MR name, PSTN dial-in number, regular participant
    admin (Chair) passwords
  • Conf-name and Conf-ID
  • Users can add that MR name in their buddy list
    and select at anytime
  • Upon receiving a first request, MGC will
  • activate the MR if dormant and join the caller
    into it
  • if already active, new callers are joined in
  • OC keypad used to enter password (DTMF tones)

    the buddy list, hence need to go thru EQ process,
    be greeted, enter a non-existing conf-ID, then
    the MGC will create tht conf.
