Fruit bats

• The brown Malaysian fruit bat otherwise known as
  the Cynopterus brachytosis lives in the tropical
  to subtropical areas in caves, bridges, and
  barns. They also like tall trees.

Diet

• Fruit bats eat many fruits such as mangoes, figs,
  guavas, bananas, and other tropical fruits. They
  do not hunt for their food and are not hunted for
  food. In the zoo, their diet consists of a mix of
  grapes, mango, and puppy chow for the protein.

• Fruit bats are mammals. We know this because the
  have fur, give milk to their birth, and dont lay
  eggs. Fruit bats live in colonies.

Appearance

• The Malaysian fruit bat is about 70cm from head
  to tail. Its wingspan is about 90cm long. This
  bat is brown with some speckles on the wings and
  little claws. They also have large eyes. They
  arent blind, but their sight is inefficient
  during the day.
