• In Springfield, MA Seuss was no longer
  permitted
  
• In the year 1904 To be part of the team
• Dr. Seuss was born And so his work was signed
  as Seuss
  
• His real name, Theodor A pseudonym was his
  scheme
  
• Seuss love and niche for rhymes He then went on
  to Oxford
  
• Was not an accident A professor he hoped to
  be
  
• His mother often spoke them But instead he met
  his wife
  
• As fast asleep he went A childrens author,
  just like he
  
• At his alma mater, Dartmouth He made cartoons
  for all occasions
  
• He was magazine editor Campaigns and politics
• Until his drinking party And then WWII began
• Created quite a stir And Seuss was in a fix

• Too old to be a soldier His books sold millions
  of copies
  
• Training movies were his thing An achievement of
  great size
  
• His love for animation fostered And won two
  Academy Awards
  
• Was much more than a fling And the Pulitzer
  Prize
  
• Success he was not granted Seuss also claimed
  two Emmys
  
• Although his talent sure was great And the
  Peabody Award
  
• The first book that he wrote As children loved
  his books
  
• Times rejected? Twenty eight! Of them they never
  did get bored
  
• Cat in the Hat certainly was He died in 91
• Seuss claim to fame With forty-four books to
  his name
  
• Intended to teach kids words In fifteen
  different languages
  
• And a movie it became Poetryll never be the

• His lit was so successful Notable Works The
  Cat in the Hat,
  
• It turned into TV shows Green Eggs and Ham, And

• Born in East Meadow, NY in 1954
• Later moved to Tustin, CA
• Attended Antioch College in Ohio for one semester
  until father died
  
• Later attended University of California and
  Berkeley Economics major
  
• Graduated in 1976
• Attended Hastings College of Law in San
  Francisco, CA graduated in 1980

• Only began reading for pleasure in high school
• First job was selling cleaning products door to

• Earned college credit by helping in a
  second/third grade classroom
  
• Decided to write a childrens book based on
  elementary school students that he worked with

• Writes every day never exceeds 2 hours/day
