  • Do you love coffee so much that you have several
bottles of coffee grounds in the kitchen? Well,
you will never want to cast away used coffee
grounds after learning how useful they are in
    many ways.
  • Coffee Grounds as Pest Repellent
  • Coffee grounds can be good repellants that can
protect plants and counter destructive attacks
from garden pests such as ants, snails and slugs.
To use, just sprinkle them over your herbs. It is
also been said that dried orange peels combined
with used coffee grounds can keep off small
    animals like cats.

Coffee Grounds as Garden Fertilizer
  • Coffee grounds mixed with decayed grass
clippings, leaves or dry straws can neutralize
some of the coffees acidity, and can be a great
fertilizer for azaleas, roses, camellias and
other plants that love acid. Casted-off coffee
grounds add potassium and nitrogen to the soil, a
component for fertilizer formulas, the N-P-K. It
also boosts magnesium, which makes plants
    healthy.

4
Coffee Grounds for Composting
  • Do not throw coffee grounds away if you think
you do not have to use them as fertilizer for
now, compost them for future use. Coffee grounds
are rich in nitrogen which makes them excellent
green matter. Moreover, worms that are
advantageous can be attracted to the compost heap
with coffee in it. Just make sure to limit the
amount of coffee grounds added to the heap so you
wont be confused between green and brown matters.

5
Coffee Grounds for Carrots
  • If you are obsessed with coffee and carrots
alike, then you are lucky. Carrots tend to grow
livelier once mixed with coffee grounds. Before
sowing the carrot seed, combine them with used
dried coffee grounds to provide them a big push
to grow faster and healthier. This can result to
bigger and best produce. What a great thing to
    start a business!

6
Coffee Grounds for Absorbing Food Odors
  • Coffee grounds can also be utilized much like
that of baking sodas in gripping food smells
stocked in the refrigerator or inside the
freezer.  By merely mounting them up in a small
open ampule, putting them at the back of the
refrigerator, and then letting them sit there for
a couple of days, you can already effortlessly
get rid of food odors in the fridge. It can then
be tossed in compost heaps after it served its
    purpose in a smelling refrigerator.
  • In addition to reusing coffee grounds for
gardening purposes, they can also be used as
facial wash, air freshener, and as cheap
    furniture scratch remover.
