Description

• Kudu are 55 inches tall and weigh up to 565
  pounds.
• They live for 7 to 8 years.
• Kudus can blue-gray, grayish-brown or a rust
  color.
• They can have 6-15 thin, white stripes on their
  body. These can help to camouflage them.

Babies

• The female leaves her group to have her baby.
• A bay kudu is called a calf.
• The calf nurses for 3 or 4 months.
• At 6 months they leave their mother.

Habitat

• Kudu live in eastern and southern Africa.
• They live in the forest or dense bush.

Diet

• The kudu is an herbivore which means they eat
  plants.
• They eat leaves and new shoots.
• In the dry seasons they like to eat wild
  watermelons and other fruit to get water.
