• 2-6 feet long

• Shallow coastal warm /temperate waters

• Birds that eat little turtles like seagulls

• Many types
• When active must go to seas surface every few
  minutes for air
• All types are endangered
• Strong swimmers and good divers
• Some types can not pull their heads or legs
  inside shell
• Their shell is made of keratin

• most are carnivores meat-eaters

• most eat crustaceans lobsters, shrimp
