Nature Protection

Everymans Rights
  • Everymans rights are rights that everyone who
lives in Finland temporarily or permanently can
use to use nature no matter who owns the land.
  • If you want to use these rights you dont need
anyones permission or you dont have to pay for
it. The rights are for foreigners, too.

3
  • You arent allowed to
  • Cause any disorder or trouble.
  • Disturb or damage birds, their nests or
    fledlings.
  • Disturb reindeer or other animals.
  • Cut down or damage trees, take trees, twigs, moss
or so on from someone elses ground.
  • Make fire to someone elses ground without a
    forcing need.
  • Disturb home peace.
  • Rubbish. Its forbidden in every area.
  • Ride a motor vehicle on the terrain without the
    owners permission.
  • Hunt without licence.
  • You are allowed to
  • Walk, ski or ride a bike in nature except on
someones yard or in places that can be injured
    while rambling.
  • Stay temporarily on places where you are also
    allowed to walk.
  • You can spend a night in a tent almost wherever
you want if the distance to housing is long
    enough.
  • Pick berries, mushrooms and flowers.
  • Fish and ice fish.
  • Row, swim and have a wash at the lake and river
    system and walk on ice.

4
Nature Protection - Birds
  • One is not allowed to disturb birds that are
under a protection and while nesting - also birds
that are not under a protection need to be left
    in peace.
  • This kind of birds are for example
  • magpie
  • tame pigeon
  • fieldfare

Growth condition Organic farming base on land's
good.
6
  • Organic farming is a form of agriculture which
avoids or largely excludes the use of synthetic
    fertilizers and pesticides, plant growth
regulators, and livestock feed additives. As far
as possible organic farmers rely on crop
rotation, crop residues, animal manures and
    mechanical cultivation to maintain soil
productivity and tilth, to supply plant
nutrients, and to control weeds, insects and
    other pests.
  • According to the international organic farming
organisation IFOAM "The role of organic
    agriculture, whether in farming, processing,
distribution, or consumption, is to sustain and
enhance the health of ecosystems and organisms
from the smallest in the soil to human beings."

7
Organic products
  • Organic food is produced according to certain
production standards. For crops, it means they
were grown without the use of conventional
    pesticides, artificial fertilizers, human waste,
or sewage sludge, and that they were processed
without ionizing radiation or food additives. For
animals, it means they were reared without the
routine use of antibiotics and without the use of
    growth hormones.
  • Historically, organic farms have been small
family-run farms which is why organic food was
once only available in small stores or farmers'
markets. Now, organic foods are becoming much
more widely available organic food sales within
the United States have enjoyed to 20 percent
growth for the past few years while sales of
conventional food have grown at only about 2 to 3
percent a year. Organic baby food is popular too,
sales of which increased 21.6 percent in 2006,
while baby food overall has only grown 3.1
percent in the same year. This large growth is
predicted to continue, and many companies are
    jumping into the market.
  • For the environment

8
  • In several surveys that have looked at smaller
studies to build an overall comparison between
conventional and organic systems of farming a
general agreement on benefits has been built. In
these surveys it has been found that
  • Organic farms do not release synthetic
pesticides into the environmentsome of which
have the potential to harm local wildlife.
  • Organic farms are better than conventional
farms at sustaining diverse ecosystems, i.e.,
populations of plants and insects, as well as
    animals.
  • When calculated either per unit area or per
unit of yield, organic farms use less energy and
produce less waste, e.g., waste such as packaging
    materials for chemicals.
  • Organic food is expensive
  • Critics claim that organic food is more expensive
than conventional food and thus too highly priced
to be affordable to persons on a lower income.
Organic products typically cost 10 to 40 more
    than similar conventionally produced products.

9
The Sun-badge means that at least 94 of the
elements is organic. The products with the
Sun-badge are close to 2 500.
10
  • In Finland you find organic itens at almost every
    supermarket. The basic products like
milkproducts, eggs, flours, flakes, loaves and
    fruit and vegetables are available.
  • At best 250-500 products are available in stores.
There are organic products and different products
group largely available in markets which are
    specialized in organic items.
  • Organic products can also be found at the market
    place

Recycling
13
Here in our village
  • Every municipality in Finland provides special
    recycling facilities
  • where local residents can leave recyclable
    wastes.
  • Here in our village we have annual streetcleaning
    community effort in spring.
  • No endangered plant species should be picked and
    they should be protected.
  • We have to save endangered species
