Title: WHAT TO CONSIDER IN GETTINGA HEATING SYSTEM

1
WHAT TO CONSIDER IN GETTINGA HEATING SYSTEM
2
  • As the winter fast approaches, knowing the
heating system that correctly caters to the needs
of your household is critical. Heating systems
are basically of two types Gas and Electricity.
Choosing between these two depend on which better
meets your needs and is economically beneficial
    to you.

3
GAS
  • With permanent (fluid) and temporary (unglued)
gas heaters available, one can choose one that
correctly fits their needs and budget. Permanent
(Fluid-installed permanently with an outward flue
to release the emissions outward) are
considerably more affordable than the electrical
    ones.

4
  • Unflued gas heaters are mobile but the structural
building demands, like the availability of gas
hoes in every room that the heater will be used,
might prove costly also the emissions of the
    unfluedarepotentially dangerous to the unborn,
    young and old.

  • In the spirit of taking care of our planet by
cutting down greenhouse emissions, natural gas is
    considered environmentally friendly in comparison
to electricity, as they have approximately 95
energy efficiency on top of fewer greenhouse
    emissions in comparison to electricity.

7
  • The maintenance and operational costs of gas
heating systems are less than using electricity
even though the set up costs are not as
    affordable.

8
ELECTRICITY
  • Electricity being the alternative to gas in the
provision of heat in the home has its own share
of advantages. Electrical heat pumps and plug-in
heaters are the widely used devices when it comes
to provision of heat in the house.

10
  • For the heat pumps, their purchase and
installation is very expensive but the
mainatainace is much cheaper hence lowering the
long term financial obligation of having the heat
    pump.

11
  • Plug-ins are an expensive option when it comes to
heating your home, as they only heat one room at
a time hence greatly beneficial for singles or
they who require to heat a room at a time.

12
  • These heater are either radiant or convection
heaters. Choice of which is to be used depends
the kind of insulation available in the house
that is being heated. If the house is very
spacious, radiant heaters are better as this will
ensure large spaces are heated evenly.

14
  • Whereas if the room or house is well insulated,
then convection and radiant heaters can do it as
the room can contain the heat within. There comes
the inconvenience of heat being released at the
    wrong time.

15
  • This can be regulated by having ceramic
tiles(night store) that release heat during those
times that the temperature is below the set
limit. Another option would be 'under floor
heating, that heats the floor of the building
that radiates to the rest of the house.

16
  • In summary, if the space to be heated is
relatively small and needs to be heated faster,
then electric heaters are the better option with
various in-store discounts available depending on
    warranty and product brand.

17
  • But for an energy and financially efficient
option for heating, natural gas heaters are the
go-to appliances with the disadvantage of not
    being readily available everywhere.
