    visit
  • 5 pros
  • 5 cons
  • 5-7 sentence paragraph describing why the student
    would or would not choose a career in this
    particular academy.
  • These summaries are saved in a folder and used to
    complete the academy application process.
  • This exercise become crucial at the end of the 10
    week visitation cycle it allows students to
    revisit each academy as they make their academy
    choice.

  • The application process requires students to
  • Fill out the academy application
  • Complete a letter of recommendation (portfolio
    requirement)
  • Create a resume (portfolio requirement)
  • The application process is completed at the end
    of the 1st semester and by the end of March the
    2nd semester. This allows time for counselors
    and teachers to review scheduling and teacher
    requirements for the following year.
