AVO Demo 2005 - Towards the EuroVO

• Summary
• This demo will highlight how powerful
  distributed workflow processes driving data flows
  through sophisticated applications will enable
  astronomers to investigate star formation
  histories in rich clusters of galaxies. The demo
  will also allow the invesitgation of the late
  stages of stellar evolution, via large data
  queries.

Installation

• If the system requirements are met click on
  automatic installation to start up the
  InstallAnywhere Java Applet

Galaxies Science Case

• Background
• The prime case selected after analysis of the
  SWG suggestions is the 'Star Formation Histories
  in Galaxies' case.
• This involves retrieving multiwavelength
  datasets to enable galaxy spectral energy
  distributions (SEDs) to be generated. These are
  then compared against stellar spectral evolution
  codes, to enable information to be derived on
  galaxy star formation histories.
