What is a noun?
  • A noun is a person, place, or a thing
  • It is also the subject of a sentence
  • Example
  • The turtle played in the pond.
  • The turtle is the subject of the sentence, and it

Person
  • If the noun is a person then
  • The person must have a name or be referred to as
    he or she, or other appropriate names
  • Example
  • Janie just bought new pencils for school.
  • Janie is the subject of the sentence, which is
    also the noun.

  • If the place is a noun then
  • The place must be identified as a restaurant, or
    a park, or something similar to that.
  • Example
  • The park is a fun place to play at.
