Title: Effects in pig breeding

1
  • Effects in pig breeding

2
  • ASCOGEN is composed of natural substances and is
used in animal breeding and fattening
  • The following metabolites are used
  •      Purified RNA
  •      Purified nucleotides
  •      Organic acids
  •     Inactived yeast as carrier
  •
  • These are all substances, which are naturally
occurring in all living organisms. Therefore they
    leave no residues meat.

3
  • The following cells is positively influenced
  • Cells of the intestinal flora
  • Gastrointestinal cells
  • Immuno-competent cells
  • Liver cells
  • Glandular cells

  • Sows
  • Control Group 180 sows randomly selected
  •
  • Test Group 230 sows randomly selected
  • ASCOGEN from 90 days before farrowing to
    weaning
  • Inclusion rate is 500 grams per metric ton of
    sow feed.
  •
  • Piglets
  • Control Group 224 heads weaned pigs randomly
    selected (1,441 heads)
  •
  • Test Group 210 heads weaned pigs randomly
    selected (1,979 heads)
  • ASCOGEN was fed to the weaned pigs until 56
    days age
  • Inclusion rate is 1 kg per metric ton of
    piglets feed.

  • TRIAL in France on SOWS and PIGLETS
  • 2001
  • Number of animals in the trial
  • Breeding farm with 110 sows. The sows were
divided in 2 groups a trial group and a control
group. Weaning was at day 21.
  • Application of ASCOGEN
  • 3g/day/sow given individually one time daily
(equal 1 kg ASCOGEN/ton of feed).
  • Recording
  • - Sows Number of live born piglets
  • - Piglets Weight of piglets at farrowing and at

  • Background
  • Piglets with severe enteric disease.
  • 96 pigs housed in groups of 6 pigs per pen. (16
    groups)
  • All piglets were weighed at weaning. The average
weight at weaning was 6.5kg. (at 25 day of age)
  • Result collection at day 50 of age.
  • Trial diets were without zinc oxide or other
    digestive enhancers.
  • Diets as follows
  • Diet 1 Negative Control conventional starter
diet fed to 25 days post weaning
  • Diet 2 ASCOGEN fed from 7 days pre-weaning to
    weaning
  • Diet 3 ASCOGEN fed from weaning to 25 days
    post weaning
  • Diet 4 ASCOGEN fed from 7 days pre weaning to
    25 days post weaning
