  native peoples.
• They became more common than shell beads and
  quills because they became so available.

• Bead designs broke down regionally-
• In general, Woodland designs were of flowers and
  plants. (In Minnesota, the Ojibwa or Chippewa)
• Plains tribal designs were geometric. (in
  Minnesota, the Dakota or Sioux)
