- My background
- I grew up in Buford Georgia.
- I attended Sugar Hill Elementary, North Gwinnett
High, Georgia State University (BBA) and Central
Michigan University (MS) - My experience
- Ive been teaching for 6 years.
- I have also taught sixth and eighth grades, but
fifth is my favorite.

- We will write just about every day.

- Math is a gateway on the CRCT that you will take
in April - Topics for the first nine weeks are place value,
computation, fractions, decimals and percents
11Science
- Ms. Mathison will teach you science
- The topics for the first nine weeks are process
skills, matter, and chemistry
12Social Studies
- Mr. Roach teaches Social Studies
- The topics for the first nine weeks are
reconstruction, westward expansion, industrial
revolution, imperialism
13Classroom Community
- Our classroom is a community. In our community,
we have rules to help us get along with each
other. - Our class rules are
- Be respectful and responsible.
- Be organized and follow directions.
- Be on time.
- Be prepared.
14Homework
- I will assign about 45 minutes of homework every
night. This includes 20 minutes of reading. - Your homework packet is due on Friday morning.
- If you need extra time to work on your homework,
you can go to homework club during recess to work
on it.
15Attendance and Tardiness
- School starts at 820 A.M.
- If you arent in the classroom by the time the
bell rings, please check in at the school office
before coming to class. - If you are tardy four times, the school will
contact your parents.

20COGAT
- Cognitive Abilities Test
- The test is given in grade five to measure the
development of abstract reasoning abilities
through verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal
assessment. Teachers use COGAT scores to
determine if students are achieving to their
potential and to identify their areas of
strength.

The CRCT (Criterion Referenced Competency
Test) is a statewide test. It has a multiple
choice format and will be given at the end of
April and beginning of May.
