12COESTL Coastal Ocean Exploration Searching for
Thin Layers Dr. Margaret Dekshenieks (UCSC) Dr.
Van Holliday (BAE Systems) Dr. Percy Donaghay
(URI) Funded by the Office of Naval Research
13- COESTL GOALS
- Search for thin layers in a variety of coastal
sites - Investigate the strong statistical relationship
- between thin layers and physical structure in
- the coastal ocean
- Refine the ability to detect thin layers through
- continued development of new instrumentation
1410 COESTL site explorations in 2001 and
2002 Instrumentation is deployed for a three
week period at each COESTL site.
