Before Opening imovie
  • Write the script.
  • Collect the images to match the script.
  • Open iphoto and load the images into a new album.

Open imovie
  • Choose a new imovie project.
  • Select name for the movie and save it to the
    desktop.

Images
  • Open the media browser in imovie. Click on the
    photo tab at the top.
  • Select the album that contains the photos you
    want to use.

Images in the timeline.
  • . Drag those photos onto the timeline in imovie.

Music
  • Open the media browser in imovie. Click on the
    audio tab at the top.
  • Select the song in itunes that compliments the
    project. Click place at playhead button.

Setting Up Headphones
  • Connect the headphone microphone.
  • Open system preferences on the computer.
  • Select sound, and select the headphone microphone
    as the input/output source.

Recording Narration
  • Rewind movie so playhead is at the beginning.
  • Click red microphone dot to begin/stop recording.
  • Speak clearly and slowly.

Photo Editing
  • Select a photo to edit by highlighting it in the
    timeline.
  • Click on show photo settings button.
  • Adjust the time length of photos to match
    narration. Adjust the Ken Burns effect, or click
    to remove the Ken Burns effect.

Audio Editing
  • Select an audio to edit by highlighting it in the
    timeline.
  • Click on the audio adjustment slider at the
    bottom of the timeline.
  • Adjust the volume of the narration or audio so
    the narration is clearly heard above the audio.
