• Setting up prerequisites
• Lao character set, build committee/forum for
  solving localization issues
• Pilot environmental knowledge network planned by
  IUCN
• Capacity building (knowledge management) of
  government counterpart, STEA

E-Governance

• Natural extension of current strong Governance
  portfolio of CO, good relations with PMO
• Lot of interest, little co-ordination, UNDP not
  yet recognised as major player in ICT sector, not
  proactive ICT focal point
• Lack of standards and best/any practices
• Two thrusts
• Develop e-governance master plan
• Start a pilot project to learn from and replicate
