On Thursday 4th December Northolt High School
hosted an evening of carols and festive
performances for local schools and families. The
event was organised in partnership with local
churches and two of the High Schools partner
primary schools, Wood End and Gifford. The
evening was launched by Mr Modi, Headteacher of
Northolt High School, who said that as Christmas
was a time for families to get together, this was
an opportunity for the family of Northolt
schools and churches to come together to
celebrate the gift of music.

The main performers for Northolt High School were
the Inspirations Choir, led by their Choirmaster
Mr Patrick Golding. They have a hard act to
follow in the Phoenix Choir of students from the
school who sang for the UK in the World Choir
Olympics in 2006. They entertained the audience
of parents, staff and Governors from the 3
schools with a range of traditional and modern
Christmas songs.

The stars of the evening however were students
from Gifford and Wood End primary schools. The
Gifford choir gave a wonderful performance of
The 12 Days of Christmas which had the audience
clapping enthusistically at their choreography.
The students from Wood End performed Christmas
themed poems with a charming style and
confidence. Mrs Lyn Woodcock, Chairman of
Governors at Northolt High School brought the
proceedings to a close by thanking all who had
performed, organised and attended, wishing us all
a merry Christmas.
