  • The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and Soviet
    missiles in Cuba made Americans nervous during
    Cold War.
  • The East German government built a concrete wall
    to divide Berlin to keep East Berliners from
    escaping to freedom in West Berlin .

    the United States.

    Americans in seeking equal rights in the 1960s
    and 70s included Native Americans and women.

    assassinated in the 1960s were Martin Luther
    King Jr., and Malcom X.

  • Donate your spare time to a hospital by doing
    volunteer work there.
  • Visit the elderly at nursing homes
