written for our instruction, so that through
perseverance and the encouragement of the
Scriptures we might have hope.

4Joshuas Commission
Now it came about after the death of Moses the
servant of the LORD that the LORD spoke to Joshua
the son of Nun, Moses' servant, saying, "Moses
My servant is dead now therefore arise, cross
this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land
which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel.
"Every place on which the sole of your foot
treads, I have given it to you, just as I spoke
to Moses.
5Joshuas Commission
"From the wilderness and this Lebanon, even as
far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all
the land of the Hittites, and as far as the Great
Sea toward the setting of the sun will be your
territory. "No man will be able to stand before
you all the days of your life Just as I have been
with Moses, I will be with you I will not fail
you or forsake you.
6Joshuas Commission
"Be strong and courageous, for you shall give
this people possession of the land which I swore
to their fathers to give them. "Only be strong
and very courageous be careful to do according
to all the law which Moses My servant commanded
you do not turn from it to the right or to the
left, so that you may have success wherever you
go.
7Joshuas Commission
"This book of the law shall not depart from your
mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and
night, so that you may be careful to do according
to all that is written in it for then you will
make your way prosperous, and then you will have
success. "Have I not commanded you? Be strong
and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed,
for the LORD your God is with you wherever you
go." Joshua 11-9
8Whats in a Name?
9The Great Commission
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All
authority has been given to Me in heaven and on
earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all
the nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching
them to observe all that I commanded you and lo,
I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
10 Joshua 12-5
"Moses My servant is dead now therefore arise,
cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to
the land which I am giving to them, to the sons
of Israel. "Every place on which the sole of
your foot treads, I have given it to you, just as

12 Joshua 12-5
"Moses My servant is dead now therefore arise,
cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to

your foot treads, I have given it to you, just as

13Joshua 16-7
"Be strong and courageous, for you shall give
this people possession of the land which I swore
to their fathers to give them. Only be strong
and very courageous be careful to do according
to all the law which Moses My servant commanded
you do not turn from it to the right or to the
left, so that you may have success wherever you
go.
14 Jesus on Fear
"And do not seek what you will eat and what you
will drink, and do not keep worrying. For all
these things the nations of the world eagerly
seek but your Father knows that you need these
things. But seek His kingdom, and these things
will be added to you. Do not be afraid, little
flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give
you the kingdom. Luke 1229-32
15Matt 1022-33
"You will be hated by all because of My name, but
it is the one who has endured to the end who will
be saved. But whenever they persecute you in one
city, flee to the next for truly I say to you,
you will not finish going through the cities of
Israel until the Son of Man comes. "A disciple
is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his
master. "It is enough for the disciple that he
become like his teacher, and the slave like his
master. If they have called the head of the house
Beelzebul, how much more will they malign the
members of his household!
16Matt 1022-33
"Therefore do not fear them, for there is nothing
concealed that will not be revealed, or hidden
that will not be known. "What I tell you in the
darkness, speak in the light and what you hear
whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the
housetops. "Do not fear those who kill the body
but are unable to kill the soul but rather fear
Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in
hell.
17Matt 1022-33
"Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet
not one of them will fall to the ground apart
from your Father. But the very hairs of your
head are all numbered. So do not fear you are
more valuable than many sparrows. Therefore
everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also
confess him before My Father who is in heaven.
But whoever denies Me before men, I will also
deny him before My Father who is in heaven.
18Mark522-42
One of the synagogue officials named Jairus came
up, and on seeing Him, fell at His feet and
implored Him earnestly, saying, "My little
daughter is at the point of death please come
and lay Your hands on her, so that she will get
well and live." And He went off with him and a
large crowd was following Him and pressing in on
Him.
19Mark522-42
A woman who had had a hemorrhage for twelve
years, and had endured much at the hands of
many physicians, and had spent all that she had
and was not helped at all, but rather had grown
worse after hearing about Jesus, she came up
in the crowd behind Him and touched His cloak.
For she thought, "If I just touch His garments, I
will get well."
20Mark522-42
Immediately the flow of her blood was dried up
and she felt in her body that she was healed of
her affliction. Immediately Jesus, perceiving
in Himself that the power proceeding from Him had
gone forth, turned around in the crowd and said,
"Who touched My garments?" And His disciples
said to Him, "You see the crowd pressing in on
You, and You say, 'Who touched Me?'" And He
looked around to see the woman who had done this.
21Mark522-42
But the woman fearing and trembling, aware of
what had happened to her, came and fell down
before Him and told Him the whole truth. And He
said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you
well go in peace and be healed of your
affliction."
22Mark522-42
And He allowed no one to accompany Him, except
Peter and James and John the brother of James.
They came to the house of the synagogue
official and He saw a commotion, and people
loudly weeping and wailing. And entering in, He
said to them, "Why make a commotion and weep? The
child has not died, but is asleep."
23Mark522-42

24Mark522-42
They began laughing at Him. But putting them all
out, He took along the child's father and mother
and His own companions, and entered the room
where the child was. Taking the child by the
hand, He said to her, "Talitha kum!" (which
translated means, "Little girl, I say to you, get
up!"). Immediately the girl got up and began to
walk, for she was twelve years old. And
immediately they were completely astounded.
