The Fate of the Children of Lir

• Many years ago there was a king in Ireland called
  Lir. He had four wonderful children A son , a
  daughter and two twin brothers, his wife died
  when his children were very young and they even
  needed someone who looked after them. It happened
  that Lir who loved his children more than any
  other thing , tried his children had another
  mother. He married with his sister- in-law, Aoife
  and gave her his children to look after them.

• When Anoife saw Lir play with his children and
  spend with them so much time, she felt jealous
  and tried o have Lir only for herself , she
  thought about take the children away. On night
  she agreed with a druid to use his magic stick
  and made some plans while the children were
  slept

• When they got up in a wonderful morning Aoife
  had ready her plans ,she said come with me Im
  going to take you to the lake when the sun shines
  and you can go into the water and swim At midday
  and the sun was up in the sky, Aoife saw as one
  cloud was coming from the mountains , she thought
  all her plans would fall down then she said
  hurry, hurry everybody to the waterThen with her
  magic stick made the children became swans, and
  said you ll be like that for 900 years The
  cloud got very dark and it start a storm,
  Aoife was taken away by the cloud and nobody saw
  her again

• It was a lucky the Aoife didnt take their voices
  out, She told them that theyll become children
  again 900 years later when s. Patric will arrive
  to Irland and the could hear the first song of
  the bells in the Christian churches

• So after the 900 years, and after spend 300 years
  in the lake of Davra, 300 hundred in the sea of
  Moyle with its storms and 300 years more in the
  Isle of Glora in the kingdom of Mayo it came the
  day that they heard the sound of the bells of the
  Christian churches, They folowed the sound till
  they arrived to the house of Caomhog and told him
  what happened a long time ago

  people from everywhere came to see the swans who
  were able to speak and sing.
• One day a princess ordered her servants to stole
  the swans, but just when the servants tried to
  get them it happened it was the 900 year after
  they had become swans so they became humans and
  the servants run away, .

• Now the swans were humans again, but hey were
  very old they died very soon , the same evening
  Camhog had a dream four children flew over the
  lake and saw how they went from the lake to the
  sky , so he realized they were the children of Lir
