  • 2nd largest surgical specialty association in UK,
    and fastest growing
  • Run by trainees, for trainees
  • Only association representing trainees at both
    Core and Higher Surgical Training Level
  • Registered charity financial well-being is
    passed onto members
  • Political and social activities
  • Past Presidents include John Black (President
    RCSEng) and Linda de Cossart (Vice President
    RCSEng)

Call for Abstracts
  • Submissions from students are highly encouraged!
    This is a great opportunity to present at a
    NATIONAL conference, alongside practicing
    surgeons.
  • Online submission open now, at www.asit.org
  • Deadline midnight 11th January
  • 250 words (Objective, Methods, Results,
    Conclusion)
  • Types of abstract accepted
  • Clinical Research
  • Basic Science (including cell and small animal
    studies)
  • Training and Education
  • Audit and observation of current practice
  • Technical reports on new methods/techniques
  • Case reports
  • Papers on issues related to Surgical Training are
    particularly relevant
