Objectives
  • Students with postsecondary plans have a greater
    chance of completing high school.
  • Students with an industry certification, state
    licensure, postsecondary training and/or a
    college degree have greater earning potential and
    lower unemployment rates.

Target Audience
  • Students who want to earn an industry
    certification or state license and whose
    interests match the programs offered through Path
    to Industry Certification
  • Students who have not expressed definitive
    postsecondary plans

Student Qualifications
  • High school standard or advanced studies diploma
  • No postsecondary plans
  • No industry certification or state licensure
    earned
  • Complete the community college application and
    domicile eligibility process

Placement Tests
  • Students must complete community college
    placement tests with the minimum score required
    by the community college in order to enroll in
    credit bearing courses.

Grade Requirements
  • Students are required to earn a minimum of a C
    average in high school English and mathematics,
    as well as an overall C average in high school
    science if required for the chosen certification,
    in order to enroll in community college
    non-credit bearing courses.

Program Goals
  • Graduate from high school with a standard or
    advanced studies diploma
  • Complete technical training by May of year
    following high school graduation
  • In-State Tuition paid
  • Books and associated fees paid
  • Earn industry certification
  • Certification/licensure exam paid
  • Pending availability of funds.
