The History of CIHI Portal

• 2000 Internal warehouse? CIHI completed
  development of its internal data warehousing
  model and querying application
• 2002 Pre-pilot? CIHI began developing a
  mirroring application for external use
• 2003 External pilot? Early version of CIHI
  Portal piloted with three sites and 35 users
• 2005 Beta release? Six-month evaluation of
  current CIHI Portal offering with 21 sites and
  100 users
• 2006 Cost recovery
• 2007 National launch

The Evolution of e-Reporting

• A key way in which CIHI makes data more
  accessible is through electronic reporting
• The rollout of CIHIs e-reporting products has
  been an ongoing, evolutionary process

• Available on CIHI website for all visitors
• Offers tables and charts on a broad range of
  health topics, which stakeholders can customize
  to look at specific fields and categories
  (province, gender, etc.)
• e-Reports
• Secure, web-based applications that provide
  registered clients with access to dynamic reports
• Allows clients to customize their view of
  comparative data
• Includes eCHAP, eHSR, eMIS, Trauma e-Stats, eNRS
• CIHI Portal is the next step in CIHIs

• Offering evaluation period to all ministries for
  this fiscal year (no charge)

  provinces
